Acupuncture

New Patient Appointment

90 minutes - $140

Follow-Up Appointment

60 minutes - $90

Acupuncture is a modality within Traditional Chinese Medicine that dates back 2,000-3,000 years. The function of acupuncture is to improve blood flow and tissue function, modulate the immune system and nervous system, and reduce tension in the body. Its practice involves the insertion of very thin needles at strategic areas on the body in order to stimulate neurovascular clusters. These “points” fall along energetic channels and are chosen based on the patient’s diagnosed disharmony. The gentle needle insertion can sometimes be temporarily felt as a dull ache as gasotransmitters or “qi” are released locally.

The New Patient appointment involves a detailed health history intake and a physical exam that includes pulse and tongue diagnosis. This will be followed by a full acupuncture treatment.

Cupping

30 minutes - $50

Cupping is an ancient healing modality used to remove stagnation and encourage smooth flow of blood and qi. The cups apply negative pressure suction to tissue, commonly on the back, shoulders and hips, to promote healing and improve circulation in these areas.

Benefits include:

  • improved circulation, reduced inflammation

  • stimulated lymphatic function to release and remove toxins

  • aids respiratory and digestive systems

  • induces the ‘rest and digest’ function of the parasympathetic nervous system
